Baptized on November 14th, 1920 - Church St. Cunibertus Ülpenich (Parish register 18/1920), godmother Magarete(a) Merzenich, born Schmitz and godfather Josef Brüders.
Josef grew up with family Schneider in Ülpenich.
On April 1st, 1935 Josef started an apprenticeship to become a locksmith. Johannes Vorn in Insterburg (Ostpreussen) was his taskmaster.
Josef successfully finished his apprenticeship on March 31st, 1938 and worked in the shop of his taskmaster as an assistant till September 30th, 1938.
From October 1938 till June 1940 mobilized.
From July 1940 till September 1940 Josef worked as a locksmith with the company Schmitz (or List) in Ülpenich.
September 1940 he came to the Wehrmacht.
On November 24th, 1945 released from war captivity (Luftwaffe).
Johanna Gleim married him on September 1st, 1945.
From 1945 till 1973 he worked as mechanic for the German National Railways.
